SEO for plumbers in Sydney

Your customers already rate you. The people who don't know your name yet pick from the three plumbers Google shows on the map. I look after what decides who's there: your website, your Google listing and your reviews.

Based in Sydney, working with plumbers anywhere in Australia.

Same search, same streets. Google shows one plumber far more than the other.

When someone near you searches for a plumber, Google puts three businesses on the map above everything else. Which three changes from street to street, and how good your work is doesn't decide it on its own.

Your listing, your reviews and your website do. Rankings and extra jobs aren't guaranteed. I map where you show up before the work and after it, so you can see what changed.

A real Sydney scan, names removed. Same Google search, same 37 spots. One plumber is top 3 at 18 of them, the other at none.

Not sure which one you are?

What you get

Three things decide whether a local customer finds you and calls. I look after all three, so you don't have to juggle a web designer, a marketing agency and a reviews app.

A website built to be found

A homepage and six pages built for Google, about the jobs you want more of and the suburbs you work in, written from your own jobs and prices. Fast on a phone. You pick from three homepage drafts before you pay anything, and the site and domain are yours.

$1,500, once

A Google listing that stays active

Your Google listing is what shows on the map when someone nearby searches. I sort the categories and services, then keep it fresh with a post every week made from jobs you actually finished, with the photos from those jobs.

$300 a month, or a one-off fix for $300

Reviews that keep coming

When a job's finished, your customer gets a review request, plus one polite reminder if they don't get to it. Every review gets a reply that names the job and the suburb. It keeps asking in the weeks you're flat out.

Results from Sydney businesses I work with

Peach Plumbing

Its best run of calls from Google on record

Calls from its Google profile, June to August

A licensed plumbing business on Sydney's Lower North Shore. I made its website visible to Google, took over the Google listing and gave the owner a ready-made review request to send after each job.

“They’re basically saying it’s improved since I got rid of them. They were like, who have you got doing it?”

+37 new Google reviews, July to September

A pool and gas heating business on ServiceM8. A job closes, the customer gets a review request, and every review gets a reply naming the job and the suburb.

How it runs each month

You get the plan the same day we talk. Posts and review requests are live inside seven days — not next month.

  • A post every week — you pick from two

I write two versions from the jobs you actually finished that week and send them over. You tap the one you like. The photos from the job go up with it, so your profile shows this week's real work instead of a stock photo of a spanner.

  • Every finished job asks for a review — then asks again

The job closes, your customer gets the request. If they don't get to it, they get one polite follow-up a few days later. That second nudge is the step that slips when it's done by hand.

  • Every review answered, properly

I write a reply to each one and match it back to the job it came from, so the reply names the actual work and the suburb it happened in — the words that tell Google what you do and where you do it. No copy-paste “Thanks for the 5 stars!” on every review.

  • A report at the end of every month

One page: what shipped, what moved, what I'm doing next. No dashboard to log into, no jargon, no invoice you can't account for.

Your part

Snap a couple of photos on each job. Then it's two taps a week: pick a post, approve a reply.

Your job software

ServiceM8 is proven: a job closes and the review request goes out. On other software, I check what it can do first and tell you straight how it would run.

Every price, up front

Fixed prices, no lock-in, and you keep everything I build. Start with any one of them.

What your customers actually type into Google

Customers don't search the way plumbers talk. The website build gives the jobs you want more of their own pages, written the way people search for them.

“plumber near me”

22,200 a month

The biggest one by far. Google answers it with the map and the three listings under it, so your Google listing is what gets seen.

“emergency plumber”

8,100 a month

Someone with water on the floor. They call whoever looks trustworthy first, which is where reviews earn their keep.

“blocked drain plumber”

4,400 a month

Someone ready to book. “Blocked drains” gets more searches, but those are mostly people working out what's wrong.

Estimated monthly Google searches across Australia (Semrush, 2026).

Questions plumbers ask about SEO

How much does SEO cost for a plumber? +

With me: $300 for a one-off Fix Session, $1,500 for a website, and $300 a month to keep your Google listing and reviews going. You can start with any one of them. Wherever you get quotes, ask what the monthly fee actually produces each month, and whether you keep the website and listing if you leave.

What's the best way to advertise as a plumber? +

Word of mouth is still the best, and Google is where it shows up now: a customer who was told your name looks you up, and a customer with no one to ask picks from the map. Paid ads work too, but you pay for every click, and in Australia a click on “plumber near me” is estimated at around $20, whether they call or not. Reviews, a good listing and a clear website keep working when you stop paying.

Is SEO still worth it now that Google gives AI answers? +

Yes. When someone needs a plumber today, Google still shows the map with three businesses on it. The AI answers draw from what's written about you on your website and in your reviews. A site that plainly says what you do, where and for how much is the kind of page they can pull from.

Can I do this myself? +

You can. Filling in your Google listing properly, asking every customer for a review and posting your jobs each week are all free. For most plumbers the hard part isn't knowing how, it's doing it every week, especially asking for reviews when you're busy. Paying for it makes sense when doing it yourself keeps slipping.

Is hipages worth it? +

It can fill a quiet diary, and some plumbers do well on it. You pay a monthly plan for credits to accept leads, and the customer is offered up to three quotes, so you're usually one of several. Plans start on a six-month term. When you stop paying, the leads stop. Your own Google listing and reviews bring customers straight to you, with no fee per lead.

Do you work with plumbers outside Sydney? +

Yes. I'm based in Sydney, but everything runs remotely: we meet on a video call, I work on your website and Google listing with the access you give me, and I can map how you show up on Google in any suburb in Australia.

An engineer, not an agency.

I write the website content and handle the technical setup myself, and take on a handful of plumbers at a time so each one gets done properly. The website is yours to keep, and your domain stays yours.

I won't promise you rankings or a number of jobs. I'll map where you show up before the work, check the same searches afterwards, and show you what changed, including what's still being measured.
